A new study reveals that Arkansas ranks ninth among states with the highest coffee consumption, with residents drinking an average of 2.12 cups per day, reflecting the nation's growing coffee culture.
The findings come as national data shows Americans consume approximately 400 million cups of coffee daily, with home brewing seeing a significant uptick since the pandemic. Home coffee consumption has increased by 8% since the start of the pandemic and 10% since 2017, with about 79% of American adults now brewing coffee at home.
The study also revealed interesting gender differences in coffee consumption patterns. While women spend more on coffee annually, averaging $2,327 compared to men's $1,934, men report consuming more cups per day. Traditional drip coffee makers remain the preferred brewing method, used by approximately 45% of coffee drinkers.
The average American household spends about $75 annually on coffee for home consumption, a figure that continues to rise due to growing interest in premium coffee and specialty brewing methods.
Arkansas's high ranking in coffee consumption aligns with broader national trends showing coffee's increasing importance in American daily life, both as a morning ritual and a cultural phenomenon.
